ahhh really? Actually I wasn't the one who made it private. my friend made it password protected to prevent those annoying guys on seeing my page again. I don't know, but i trusted her with my password and everything. :) if you're not logged in with your tumblr account, try to search for my page, and it'll ask for a password.

Well, your friend didn’t do a good job. Sorry to say it. I logged in tumblr with a private account of mine and went to your page and I can still see everything.

I hate this feeling…

Why am I so restless?

Why can’t I feel at ease?

Weapons in form of Words....: I'm happy that I belong to a Filipino family. :] → lifeisironic.tumblr.com

helgaholic:

  • We don’t FART in public.
  • We don’t pick our noses in public.
  • It is not okay for our parents if we get pregnant at fourteen.
  • It is not okay for our parents if we have boyfriends at fifteen.
  • But if ever we had one, they’ll probably watch out for our safety, and make sure it’s going to be a good…

Filipinos are so unnecessary and asinine, always coming up with shit like this to proclaim how supposedly awesome and great we are. Guess what? WE AREN’T. We are a poor nation with backward values and outdated morals. Listing crap like this doesn’t make non-Filipinos think better of us. It’s just a bunch of you dumb Pinoys masturbating each other’s egos.

This doesn’t deserve to be reblogged, but I’d thought I’d make sure what I had to say was out there.

This was said to lifeisironic.tumblr from me.

Whoever wrote what they did needs some help. It seems like they aren’t comfortable being in their own skin and are ashamed of who they are. It’s really sad to see that. Maybe she/he should stop caring so much about what other people think of them. I see Filipinos as being amazing and awesome. How much they can burden on their shoulders and still work hard and have the strength to move forward. Maybe it can be too conservative with things or have some outdated standards, but if you got rid of everything you’d lose what makes a Filipino. Being from a poor nation doesn’t make the person poor. It is how they treat others and them self. Being from a poor nation doesn’t make you poor in spirit. It sounds to me like it is another person that is getting a Western mentality. Less people need to think Westerners/Americans or the country is so great because it’s not. It is filled with people who have no standards and are very, very poor in spirit.

I’d also like to add that if Helgaholic is so dissatisfied with her culture and herself. I’d suggest she leave the Philippines if living there and to invest in some major plastic surgery. A lot of it to make sure she can erase any physical traits of being a Filipino. As well as washing herself clean of anything culture or values she might have from being a Filipino.

I’m done. Saying no more.

Senate Committee Passes DADT Amendment → advocate.com

The Senate Armed Services Committee approved a measure Thursday by a 16-12 vote that would begin the process of dismantling the 17-year-old “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that prohibits gays and lesbians for serving openly in the military.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine was the lone Republican on the committee joining 15 of her Democratic colleagues to approve the measure as an attachment to the 2011 National Defense Authorization Act. Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia was the only Democrat to vote against it.

A Democratic aide said the House was likely to start debate on the same measure, which has been offered as amendment to the NDAA by Rep. Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania, around 8-9 p.m. Thursday evening, with a vote expected to take place around 9-10 p.m.

House speaker Nancy Pelosi expressed confidence earlier in the day that she had the support to pass the measure. “I think the votes are there,” she told reporters during a press conference.

If signed into law as part of the Defense funding bill, the measure would not immediately repeal the law. “Don’t ask, don’t tell” would continue as the official policy of the military until two events occur: the Pentagon completes an implementation study due in December; and the secretary of Defense, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and President Barack Obama certify that repeal will not weaken military readiness. Once those two requirements are met, a 60-day waiting period will begin before the policy is finally lifted.

Repeal advocates celebrated the historic vote even as they acknowledged that it was one step in what promises to be a multitiered process.

Aubrey Sarvis, executive director of the pro-repeal Servicemembers Legal Defense Network hailed Democrats for persevering in the face of opposition from the military’s leadership.

“Chairman Carl Levin and Sen. Joe Lieberman showed remarkable courage and steadfastness in the face of unprecedented and inappropriate last minute lobbying by the Pentagon service chiefs who seemed to have forgotten that they are not the policy makers here,” he said.

But Sarvis also cautioned that the road to repeal was not over.

“The Senate Armed Services Committee passed a historic road map to allowing open military service, but it doesn’t end the discharges,” he said. “It is important for all gay and lesbian active duty service members, including the reserves and the National Guard, to know they’re at risk. They must continue to serve in silence under the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ law that remains on the books.”

Some activists expressed concerns about the last-minute 60-day concession that was made to secure the vote of West Virginia senator Robert Byrd. But Alex Nicholson, executive director of the gay veterans group Servicemembers United, said the extra time would delay but ultimately not disrupt the repeal process.

“It is our understanding that the additional 60 days are just an extra cushion added into the delayed implementation timeline,” said Nicholson. Once the certification letter is signed and transmitted to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees, he added, “the 60-day clock starts, and when it runs out, then the new law goes into effect automatically.”

Once the Pentagon working group issues its review, Fred Sainz, vice president of communications for the Human Rights Campaign, said he expects the process to proceed with dispatch.

“The experience of foreign militaries and dozens of studies have been that gays and lesbians should be integrated into the military immediately,” he said. “Following the completion of the study, we expect that the administration will proceed expeditiously.”

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, stoked concerns of repeal advocates after he was quoted Thursday saying the certification process — or the “trigger” — would give military leadership control over whether to finally repeal the policy.

“That trigger is to certify whether we should move ahead with that change, even if the law were to repeal it,” reported the American Forces Press Service.

But a spokesman for Mullen said the chairman’s quote was misinterpreted and that he remains personally committed to repeal.

“What he was trying to articulate there is that the draft legislation provides the department the ability to complete the review, exercise our own discretion with respect to new policies and regulations, and certify that we are ready for implementation before the policy can take effect,” Capt. John Kirby told The Advocate. “There is no doubt in the chairman’s mind that the president’s intent and desire is to repeal the policy.”

U.S. House Vote Spells Demise of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” → hrcbackstory.org

Moments ago the House of Representatives voted to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” paving the road to the end of the 17 year old law.  This historic action follows a vote for repeal in the Senate Armed Services Committee and is a tremendous step toward finally ending the ban on openly lesbian and gay service members.  It was the first vote ever in the U.S. House of Representatives to repeal the ban on open service.

Said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese: “Lawmakers today stood on the right side of history. This is a historic step to strengthen our armed forces and to restore honor and integrity to those who serve our country so selflessly.”

With successful House passage of the amendment, the final NDAA bill must be passed in both the House and Senate and the two versions reconciled before being sent to the President for his signature. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Penn. was the lead sponsor of the measure in the House and Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn., championed the amendment in the Senate Armed Services Committee earlier today.

From http://lifeisironic.tumblr.com/

Yeah, I can’t get off in front of the computer because i’ve been addicted to tumblr. :))
Oh my, it’s so clear that you hate them. and what you’re saying is right. i never realized that until you told me these things. “They need to realize there are worlds outside of America and that not everything is about them.” - this is my favorite part. I edited that post i did, i realized there’s no need to say sorry. thank you for your concern, i was enlightened..:) ingats too, you know how to speak tagalog pala. I read your page and you learned a lot of languages, wow. that’s so great.

My reply since for some reason tumblr isn’t submitting it as something I can reply to otherwise. I wouldn’t say hate, it’s too strong, but I dislike quite a bit. Dislike the things they do and the ways they act towards others. Thank you for liking it. It’s no problem on my part at all. No need to thank me. Happy to enlighten. I have too much time on my hands so I spend a lot of it thinking, talking to others, and helping them out. Haha. Ah, languages? Well, I’m not fluent in any of them. I’m just taking them all on. Haha.

Oh no, I'm not apologizing because I'm a pinoy. It's because I read a post concerning what i wrote and somehow he felt offended because he thought i was pertaining to their race. But i never meant to do that. I am so proud that I was born a pinoy. Someone told me the same thing that you said, that i don't have to apologize because they're not included in my race. but i felt that i need to just to make things clear that i wasn't pointing to them. somehow, that guy felt I am saying "GOOD THING I WASN'T BORN AN AMERICAN because they're like that".. funny is, he can't understand that i'm only talking about my race. Not theirs. I just made things clear because some of my fellow pinoys asked about some points in my post. that it wasn't clear to them., maybe you're right that I don't need to ask for an apology, but i'm afraid that I might have hurt someone.. but anyway, thanks for what you said. next time, I won't apologize anymore.:)) THANK YOU.

Such a quick reply. Thank you. I didn’t realize I wrote so much. Haha.  Like I said about Americans and egos. They need to realize there are worlds outside of America and that not everything is about them. When I read the post I only seen someone being proud of them self, culture, and country. I seen no bad talking about any other races, cultures, or countries. I’m also glad you won’t apologize because there isn’t need to. You didn’t do anything wrong. Ingats.

Banish Bieber Fever Forever → au.news.yahoo.com

If you want tween-sensation Justin Bieber banished from your browser forever, help has arrived.

It appears almost everyone has had enough of the pint-sized ‘Baby’ singer. Not only has the perfectly-coiffed star dropped off Twitter’s trending topics; he can now be censored by internet users completely.

The application, dubbed ‘Shaved Bieber’, blocks out all unwanted mentions of the 16-year-old Canadian by scanning each web page then covering up his name or photos whenever they appear on your screen.

It works on every site, including Twitter, Google and Wikipedia. Web users can even view his personal homepage and watch as every mention of Bieber is blocked out.

The inventive Bieber-blocker is the brainchild of web designer Greg Leuch.

“We’ve developed a series of innovative tools to help cover the lower regions of web pages from unwanted Justin Bieber content,” he wrote on the website. “Shave away those Bieber mentions on websites with our bookmarklet, Firefox Add-on or JavaScript files.”

Bieber was discovered through YouTube, after his mother published his performances on the video-sharing site. After growing into an internet hit, he was signed to a major label.

But as web saturation hit boiling point, Bieber’s ubiquity became too much for older generations to handle – and a war was declared on the star.

In a society where the internet can break fame as easily as it can make it, Bieber is lucky his fan-base of hyperventilating young females will do whatever it takes to keep him relevant in the real world.

I never thought I’d have anything to post that was about him, but I love it! Hahaha.

  • Anon (via FormSpring) : How would you feel if you lost a friend due to bitter circumstances?
  • xLei : This is a tough question. It depends on the severity of what happened. If it was my fault or theirs. I know that it would hurt a lot worse if it was someone I was very close to or someone I respected a lot. It would be very unfortunate and I'd hope only temporary.
